What You Should and Shouldn’t Buy on Black Friday
There’s a little over a week left until America’s favorite shopping day, Black Friday. We know that it can be tempting to go a bit crazy after having scanned the Black Friday ads, but it’s important to recognize that while some deals are certainly worth the hype, there are also some items you’re better off not purchasing on the busiest shopping day of the year.
So how do you determine what’s actually a good deal and what to pass on? According to Dealnews there are 11 things that you should avoid buying on the day after Thanksgiving. Fitness equipment, tools, jewelry, gift cards, holiday decorations and winter clothing make that list, as well as some other extremely popular Black Friday purchases.
We’ve all seen the news reports from stores like Walmart and Best Buy where people have either camped out or waited in line for hours to get the first chance at an awesome deal on a brand new flat screen TV or gaming system. Unfortunately, some of those items might not be worth the hassle of Black Friday. Cnet agrees there are some electronics you should avoid, such as 1080p TV’s, anything brand new like the Apple Watch 3 or Samsung Galaxy Note 8, and high-end PCs.
So just what should you be getting excited about as Black Friday draws near? Dealnews suggests that large home appliances, iPhones, and 4K TVs are worth checking out this time around. There is also a chance you could find deals on non-winter specific clothing.
The moral of the story is to shop smart and remember that ultimately, it might be a deal, but do you really need it? It’s important to consider that while the deals might be nice, it’s still money coming out of your pocket.
